End-to-end responsibility.

## Mental model

Ownership means closing the loop, not playing the hero. The opposite of ownership is "that is not my team." Real ownership notices the moments you could have said that and chose not to.

## Practice

### STAR: end-to-end ownership

Write a STAR about a problem that was not your job but you owned anyway. Show how you escalated when you needed help.

**Expected evidence:** starStory() returns { situation, task, action, result, metric: { name, unit, before, after }, escalation (the specific ask you made when you needed help) }. The checker enforces structure only: four distinct sections of 20+ words, action the longest, 150+ words total, before ≠ after, and the result section must name the metric and state its after value. Aim for 250-350 words — that is the interview bar, not the checker’s.
